Trinity

We believe there is one God, eternally existent in the three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Jesus

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His atoning death, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of God, and in His personal return to restore all things.

Sanctification

We believe that each person, as they draw close to God, will receive sanctification by the Holy Spirit, becoming motivated to live in a Christ-like way and ultimately, to join Christ Jesus in the resurrection and eternal life in a fully reconciled and healed universe.

Relationship

We believe it is the goal of Christ to reconcile all people and all creation to himself.

The Bible

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, trustworthy, authoritative word of God.

Unity

We believe in the spiritual unity of the body of Christ across time and space.

Sacraments

We believe in the celebration of the sacraments as prescribed by Christ: baptism and communion.

Core Beliefs in Action

Here are a few (but by no means exhaustive) circumstances that our community encounters regularly and how we are committed to engage them with our core values.

Unity in Diversity

We are a Christ-focused community committed to growth in our spiritual lives. While we agree on the core aspects of Christian doctrine (The Nicene Creed), we are committed to live freely and lovingly in the tension together if other aspects of our personal doctrines are not in alignment with another’s personal beliefs.

LGBTQ+

We acknowledge the years of abuse endured by the LGBTQ+ at the hands of the Church. We also acknowledge the wide variance of Christian understanding around this topic; and when differences of understanding arise we hold a posture of grace and a reserved certainty of our beliefs, not in denial of truth, but in recognition of our capacity to be wrong.

We are committed to building a sanctuary where members of the LGBTQ+ community can come to know the living Christ within a refuge of compassion and grace. We affirm their orientation and identity, welcome them into our community, and seek to find ways of including their God-given gifts in our expression of faith.

Neuro-Diversity

We acknowledge that, for a variety of reasons, society has often pushed the neuro-diverse to the outskirts of society. We also acknowledge that the cultural traditions of Christianity have historically done an inadequate job of including the unique, God-given gifts of the neuro-diverse.

We are committed to building a sanctuary where the neuro-diverse can come to know the living Christ within a refuge of compassion and grace. We affirm their value, welcome them into our community, and seek to find ways of including their God-given gifts in our expression of faith.
